Outreach

The Art & Ag Project cultivates a dialogue between artists, farmers, and the community to raise awareness of the importance of preserving farmlands and the visual arts in Yolo County. Art and Ag has been nationally recognized by the National Endowment of the Arts as a model program for "creative placemaking" - and has earned an ArtPlace grant for using the artso "increase community vibrancy".
“Roots To Wine” - To promote a new wine region focused on celebraing member's connection to California's rich agricultural and wine history and prominence.
“The mission of the Cache Creek Conservancy is to preserve, restore, enhance, and promote the stewardship of the lands within the Cache Creek watershed.”
Since 1970, the Yolo Food Bank has been working to address hunger issues and make a difference in the lives of the people and communities of Yolo County. Founded as a volunteer-run backyard gleaning program, Yolo Food Bank has grown to an organizational network of staff, volunteers, and partner agencies. Yolo Food Bank coordinates the storage and distribution of food from a network of growers, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and grocery stores, while cultivating new sources of food.
Yolo Land Trust was founded in 1988 to preserve Yolo County’s agricultural and natural resource heritage. Yolo Land Trust conserves Yolo County’s:
  • Agricultural economy and rural character
  • Habitat for endangered plant and wildlife species and the great diversity of creatures that rely upon a virtually undeveloped landscape to thrive and survive
  • Scenic beauty provided by a rural landscape of farms and ranches, views of open space, and enjoyment of small towns and cities.
